Devon and Mark’s engagement session in the North Carolina mountains was everything you could hope for—breathtaking scenery, vibrant fall colors, and full of laughter and candid moments together. Their love story is full of quirky moments, like a failed camping trip where they ended up at a La Quinta after laughing through their shared misery, and meaningful milestones, like their engagement. Even though Mark’s elaborate plan to propose didn’t go off without a hitch (thanks to canceled flights and alarm mishaps), the moment ended up being perfectly them: heartfelt, full of surprises, and rooted in what matters most.
We chose the NC mountains for their photos as a way to celebrate this new chapter in their lives together. With Devon originally from San Antonio and Mark from Pittsburgh, they’ve built their relationship across states and cities, ultimately putting down roots in Charlotte. The mountains felt like the perfect way to show off their new home in North Carolina—a place that beautifully represents the next step in their journey as a couple and the life they’re building together.
