Riverfront Park Engagement Photos
When Taylor and Kyle told me they love art, history, and wine, I built their engagement session around those details. Every part of the experience reflected who they are. From classic portraits to a hands-on activity, the session felt personal from start to finish.
We started with formal portraits for their save-the-dates and wedding website. They wanted something polished but still natural. To match that, we chose a park in Troy with soft light and a clean, simple backdrop. It also gave them space to relax. That’s when the real expressions showed up. Their small smiles and quick glances made the images feel like them.

For the second part of their session, we went with something more casual and creative—a painting activity inspired by one of their favorite date nights. After a trip to the car for a quick outfit change, we came back to the park and settled in, Watching them paint together brought out so many genuine moments of laughter and connection. Kyle’s jokes and Taylor’s artistic focus made for the perfect dynamic, and the pops of color from their canvases added a fun, personal touch to the photos. This part of the session wasn’t just about the photos we captured; it was about giving them a chance to pause, play, and enjoy being together. By incorporating an activity that had real meaning for them, we created moments that they’ll look back on as part of their engagement story—not just photos.
It’s sessions like this that remind me why I love what I do. Getting to know my couples and translating their stories into photos is such a rewarding process, and Taylor and Kyle’s engagement session is one I’ll never forget. Here’s to these two and all the adventures ahead—whether it’s wine tastings, lakeside sunsets, or cozy nights in with their cat, Harley
