Lydia+Nate Hanging Rock State Park Engagement

Hanging Rock State Park, located in central North Carolina, is very near and dear to my heart. I grew up going there as a kid and worked as a lifeguard at their lake during my late teens and early 20’s. It has plentiful trails for beginners and pros alike and features five waterfalls with a few different ways to get there. It is a place that I suggest to almost all of my couples who are based around Winston-Salem and want to add a bit of adventure and a lot of nature into their engagement sessions.

So of course I suggested Hanging Rock to Lydia+Nate when they asked me where they should get their engagement pictures done. The four of us met up beforehand at our house and rode to the park together with their doodle, Teddy. Our first stop during their session was Lower Cascades outside of the park, then we hiked the main Hanging Rock Trail, and lastly made a stop at one of my secret locations to capture the sunset over the mountains on the way home. Lydia’s favorite part was being able to get some pictures of the quick changes in the woods. This was the first time Denton and I actually got to meet Lydia+Nate, and we had a wonderful time getting to know them before their intimate wedding in October.
