Lydia+Nate Hanging Rock State Park Engagement

Hanging Rock State Park, located in central North Carolina, is very near and dear to my heart. I grew up going as a kid and worked there as a lifeguard during my late teens. It has plentiful trails and features five waterfalls beginners and pros alike. It’s one of the best North Carolina engagement locations. I always suggest it to couples who live in and around Winston-Salem who want to add a little adventure to their engagement session.

So of course I suggested Hanging Rock to Lydia and Nate when they asked me where they should get their engagement pictures done. The four of us met up beforehand at our house and rode to the park together with their doodle, Teddy. Our first stop during their session was Lower Cascades outside of the park, then we hiked the main Hanging Rock Trail, and lastly made a stop at one of my secret locations to capture the sunset over the mountains on the way home. Lydia’s favorite part was being able to get some pictures of the quick changes in the woods. This was the first we got to meet Lydia and Nate, and we had a wonderful time getting to know them before their intimate wedding in October.
